Raizan Solutions LLC is hiring for their client, and we do not charge candidates. We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Mom/Baby Unit who will manage the unit’s activities, ensuring the highest quality of care, and oversee day-to-day shift activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Clinical Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Staff Development: Develop and implement action plans to enhance staff skills. Supervise a unit of 20 – 60+ employees across an 8 to 24-hour shift.
- Patient Care: Monitor staffing based on changing patient needs, ensuring optimal care while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Safety & Risk Management: Supervise daily unit operations, including human resources, safety programs, and risk management.
- Quality & Service Standards: Ensure coordinated treatment plans, customer-focused care, and effective service utilization. Resolve patient/family concerns and implement best practices.
- Cross-Unit Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers outside of the unit to deliver top-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and at least 2 years in a leadership role such as charge nurse, preceptor, or quality improvement champion.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a high school diploma or GED.
- License/Certification: Current California Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Preceptor or charge nurse training completion.
- Knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care processes, staffing, and budgeting.
- Understanding of the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS certification is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?
- Must have a current CA RN license.
- Must have recent (within the last 5 years) Mom/Baby RN experience.
- Lead, Charge, or Asst. Manager/Supervisor experience is required.
- A BS or BSN degree is a must; MS/MSN preferred.
What are the nice-to-have skills?
- Experience as a Preceptor, Trainer, or Educator is beneficial.
- Experience in a union environment.
- Strong communication, collaborative approach, and patient-centric attitude.
- Ability to resolve challenges quickly in a fast-paced environment.
The Assistant Nurse Manager oversees RNs, guiding them through shifts in a Level III Maternal Child Health department (Mom/Baby). This role includes handling annual reviews, addressing grievances, responding to patient/family concerns, and working closely with the MD team and hospital admit team.
