Raizan Solutions LLC is hiring for our client, and we do not charge candidates. This exciting opportunity is for a Principal Turbine Aerodynamics Engineer to join a leading global provider of energy solutions specializing in industrial gas turbines.
Job Summary:
As a Principal Turbine Aerodynamics Engineer, you will be part of the Turbine Aerodynamics Group, responsible for the aerodynamic design and analysis of gas turbines. Your role will include developing tools to enhance design processes, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting both new engine programs and the resolution of product and field issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform aerodynamic design and analysis for gas turbines, including airfoil and flow path definition.
- Develop and maintain analytical tools to improve design and predictive capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Design, Heat Transfer, and Performance Groups to ensure that designs meet program requirements for manufacturability, cost, durability, and performance.
- Lead efforts to automate design processes, including CFD pre- and post-processing.
- Provide technical support for new engine programs and core product enhancements.
- Ensure that automated inspection systems are optimized for maximum business value.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (required).
- 5+ years of relevant experience in gas turbine aerodynamics (required).
- Proficiency in 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D aero design tools and methods (required).
- Coding skills using Python, C, C++, or similar tools (required).
- Experience collaborating with other design disciplines to develop aerodynamic technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with cooled and uncooled turbine blade and nozzle technologies.
- Experience with ANSYS CFX, STAR CCM, and geometry-creation tools such as Creo.
- Demonstrated experience in automating design processes, particularly in CFD.
