Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, involving system design, analysis, and installation. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical System Design: Lead the design, development, and implementation of fully integrated mechanical assembly systems that meet all project and process requirements.
  • Project Management: Act as the technical lead and project manager for smaller projects, overseeing budgets, timelines, and the work of lower-level engineers and contractors.
  • System Analysis and Calculations: Perform detailed calculations including stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems: Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Safety Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local, government, and industry-specific safety standards, including ASTM amusement ride safety standards.
  • System Integration: Oversee the integration of mechanical systems in various industries such as entertainment and manufacturing.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation for system configuration, design, implementation, and maintenance.

Physical Demands:

  • Visual and Auditory: Ability to see, perceive colors, hear, and communicate clearly.
  • Physical Dexterity: Requires dexterity in hands for tasks such as driving, lifting, climbing, and operating equipment.
  • Equipment Interaction: Ability to mount and dismount equipment, push, and pull as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Standard office setting, on-site office environment, and diverse industrial/construction environments.
  • Technology Use: Frequent use of PCs, fax machines, copy machines, and phones.

Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Stable work history.
  • 5+ years of experience in the following areas is preferred:
    • Mechanical Systems Design: In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, components, stress analysis, acceleration forces, and knowledge of ASTM Standards.
    • Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is highly desired.
    • Drawing and Assemblies: Ability to develop detailed drawings of mechanical designs, assemblies, and installation procedures.
    • System Troubleshooting: Expertise in designing and troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
    • System Calculations: Ability to perform complex system analysis, including stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies.
    • Ride System Design: Knowledge of requirements for designing ride systems for attractions, including guest accelerations, reach envelope, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation procedures.
    • Microsoft Windows and Office: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
