Overview:
Are you eager to work with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and be at the forefront of technological innovation? As an Engineering Technician IV, you will be providing customer support for onsite installations, repairs, and maintenance of semiconductor equipment in Hillsboro, Oregon.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment and be a part of a team dedicated to advancing new technologies in a pre-production setting.
- Training Location: Austin, Texas, or Hillsboro, Oregon (1-3 months)
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm (10% differential)
- Night Shift: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am (15% differential)
Note: The position requires full-time presence at the assigned location and flexibility for shift changes.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain equipment within factory standards and specifications.
- Instruct customers on system equipment operation and maintenance.
- Serve as a liaison for customer projects (installations, component replacements).
- Perform complex repairs and maintenance independently and with the team.
- Provide technical support, answer questions, and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Identify and report equipment errors and performance updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide periodic reports.
- Train customer personnel to ensure proficiency in service and operations.
- Collaborate with field technicians to troubleshoot and service equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (technical training, military training, or technical school) plus 5-7 years of related experience.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a related field (semiconductor manufacturing equipment).
- Skills: Proficiency in Linux OS (preferred), hands-on mechanical skills, experience with electronic testing tools, and knowledge in optics, lasers, robotics, or precision mechanics is a plus.
- Customer Support: Experience in customer-facing roles is beneficial.
- Cleanroom Environment: Willingness to work in cleanroom conditions (protective gear required).
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and have the ability to perform various physical activities (standing, walking, kneeling, etc.).
Note: Compliance with customer policies and protocols, including potential COVID-19 measures, is required.
Must Have:
- Hands-on experience with repairing, maintaining, and replacing complex mechanical and electrical equipment components.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Proficiency with electronic testing tools for diagnostics and repairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues and providing training.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Linux for operating and troubleshooting system equipment.
- Technical experience in specialized fields like optics, lasers, or robotics.
- Expertise in precision mechanical work, particularly in equipment adjustments or calibrations.
- Previous experience providing technical support in customer-facing roles.
- Prior experience working in cleanrooms with full protective gear.
