The Engineering Technician will be responsible for verifying control system functionality with a focus on safety compliance. This includes performing tests, preparing and reviewing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control drawings, and maintaining data integrity. The role involves periodic audits, troubleshooting, supplier management, and preventive maintenance planning, ensuring equipment operates efficiently within an automotive environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Control System Verification:
- Confirm functionality and safety compliance through designing and executing test procedures.
- Documentation and Collaboration:
- Prepare and review electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess components, materials, and suppliers.
- Maintain project documents using approved tools and templates.
- Process Integrity:
- Ensure data collection accuracy for processes and builds.
- Respond to requests from manufacturing, process, and other engineering teams.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform periodic equipment audits, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
- Develop and review preventive maintenance plans.
- Supplier Management:
- Manage supplier development and delivery timelines.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and preventive maintenance planning.
- Working knowledge of heat induction processes.
Additional Information
- Safety Requirements: Steel toe boots, FR uniform, safety glasses, and ear plugs required.
- Shift: 1st shift, Monday to Friday, every other weekend (6AM/7AM – 3PM/4PM).
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree not needed.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical controls within an automotive environment.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and preventive maintenance planning.
