Raizan Solutions LLC is hiring for their client as a direct hire, and the company does not charge candidates.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will provide in-depth clinical expertise for the CVICU, ensuring quality nursing standards and practices are upheld for high-risk cardiovascular patients. The CNS will engage in clinical education, provide consultation, conduct research, and assist in administrative functions. This role will be pivotal in preparing Santa Clara as a future heart transplant center.
Essential Responsibilities
- Clinical Standards & Care:
- Establish and monitor nursing care standards, making recommendations for enhancements.
- Collaborate with nursing staff on patient assessments and develop tailored care plans for complex cases.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided.
- Education & Training:
- Design and implement patient and family education programs.
- Assist nursing staff with program implementation and education needs.
- Train staff, including orientation for new hires, and provide interdisciplinary plans of care.
- Consultation & Best Practices:
- Offer expertise to healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses.
- Define and implement best nursing practices.
- Participate in hiring processes, provide input on clinical competency, and support quality assurance efforts.
- Data Analysis & Quality Monitoring:
- Collect and analyze patient care outcome data.
- Use KP Health Connect for evaluating care quality, clinical operations, and documentation accuracy.
- Discharge Planning:
- Oversee a coordinated and effective discharge planning program.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in a clinical specialty area.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in a clinical nursing field or related field.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Clinical Nurse Specialist Certificate (California) required at hire.
- Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Additional: Experience in training staff and hosting nursing orientation, specific CVICU experience, and ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- ACLS or PALS Certification.
